Blackpool plays host to hundreds of top shows, concerts and special events each year and the events calendar continues to grow and grow.
Blackpool is renowned as the Dance Capital of the World. Boasting two magnificent ballrooms, the resort regularly hosts major national and international competitions.

Beach Volleyball comes to town in September. It's the CEV European Championship Tour Beach Volleyball English Masters, with Europe's top players taking the resort by storm.
This is sport at its very best, as the teams battle it out in a purpose-built stadium on the newly-constructed St Chad's Headland, watched by television audiences across Europe. All this and the Illuminations too!

The World Firework Championships (September and October), another internationally acclaimed event, international pyrotechnical experts compete for the coveted title, staging amazing displays in the skies above Central Promenade. The event also makes the opening weeks of the Illuminations season an even more explosive experience.
